MARLIN AND GT FIRST. TUNAS ALWAYS.

What is your next ambition?

A target starts a conversation. It never guarantees a catch, a season or a suitable programme in every destination.

UNDERSTAND THE DAY, NOT JUST THE NAME

Choose how you want to fish.

Offshore and nearshore describe the setting. Trolling, jigging and casting describe the technique. Keep both in mind.

01

Trolling

Baits or lures are worked behind a moving boat. Discuss how much of the trip is spent travelling, searching and fishing.

Check: tackle, target, travel time
02

Popping & casting

You cast and work a lure. Ask about instruction, space to cast safely and suitable tackle before choosing an active day.

Check: skill, effort, casting space
03

Jigging

A lure is worked vertically through the water. Depth, tackle and current influence the effort and the setup.

Check: depth, tackle, experience
04

Bottom fishing

A baited rig is fished near the bottom. Suitability for beginners or children depends on the boat, conditions and instruction.

Check: depth, conditions, guidance

ONE MORE DISTINCTION

Where you fish changes the day.

A setting and a technique answer different questions. Confirm the route and time on the grounds for the actual programme.

Nearshore & reef

Ask about depth, drift, the route and the conditions. Nearshore does not automatically mean calm water or a child-friendly trip.

Offshore & blue water

Ask about travel distance and how much of the quoted trip is transit, searching or fishing. Offshore does not identify one particular technique.

Not sure where to start?

For a first trip, prioritize instruction, comfort and time on the water. For a specific target, ask about the local opportunity and the actual technique.

Tell us what you have in mind ↗

THE DETAILS BEHIND THE PRICE

Compare the same thing.

A low headline price can mean a shorter day, a shared seat or different inclusions. Make the basis visible.

Whole boat or per person?

Change the group size to see how a private rate is split. These numbers are fictional examples, not quotes.

ILLUSTRATIVE 6-HOUR PRIVATE TRIP$480 / whole boat

$120/ person at 4 guests

$80/ total trip-hour

Sharing calculation only. Capacity, taxes, tackle, bait, fuel and transfer must be checked for a real quote. Effective trip-hour is a comparison calculation, not a purchasable hourly tariff. An hour of trip time is not necessarily an hour of fishing.

WHEN TO GO / SOURCE-BASED GUIDE

Choose your fish.
Then choose your window.

A good month for a target fish is not always the calmest month at sea. Read the local evidence, the method and the limits together.

Three different questionsFish activityWeather & accessProgramme operation

Bali

Different fish. Different windows.

May-Oct / yellowfin
The Serangan charter Bali Fish Boat reports yellowfin throughout the year, with a May-October peak.
Oct-May / GT
Tackle specialist GT-Fishing recommends October-May in its Bali GT guide. The guide also discusses nearby Gili/Lombok grounds, so confirm the actual location. This differs from the Serangan charter's general advice.

Before you chooseMatch the target and fishing grounds before choosing a month. A tuna window is not a GT calendar.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Maldives

The atoll and method matter.

Dec-Mar / offshore
South Ari operator Spear Maldives highlights this window for offshore sailfish, yellowfin and wahoo trips.
Aug-Oct / GT locally
The same operator reports its strongest GT popping in August-October, within the southwest monsoon. More wind and current can change access to exposed grounds.

Before you chooseThese are South Ari observations, not a peak calendar for every atoll. Confirm the island, side of the atoll and method.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Dubai

Start with the cooler months.

Oct-May / preferred
Yacht specialist Burgess identifies October-May as a preferred fishing period. Cooler conditions and seasonal targets shape the choice of trip.
Other months / possible
Some fishing continues outside this window. Choose the actual target, departure time and boat comfort rather than treating summer as automatically unavailable.

Before you chooseA Dubai departure in the Arabian Gulf is different from a transfer to Fujairah and fishing in the Gulf of Oman.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Phuket

Calmer water is not the whole story.

Nov-Apr / charter guide
Wahoo Cruises identifies November-April for sailfish, tuna and mackerel. Thai Fishing describes generally better sea conditions during its dry-season window.
Jul-Sep / sailfish reports
Thai Fishing also reports runs of sailfish and large wahoo in July-September. Rainy months do not automatically mean an absence of these fish.

Before you chooseUse the forecast and recent reports for the actual grounds. Seasonal fish activity and the ability to reach those grounds are separate questions.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Antalya

Check the programme, not just the month.

Year-round / shared trips
Antalya Fishing advertises its shared fishing programme throughout the year. This describes operation of that programme, not a year-round peak for every species.
Apr-Nov / yacht programme
Seven Docks advertises April-November for its Antalya yacht fishing trips. A different operating window does not establish a conflicting biological season.

Before you chooseA reliable species-by-month calendar is still pending. Ask which fish, technique and route the proposed captain recommends for your dates.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Alanya

Autumn is a lead, not a promise.

Sep-Nov / local advice
Alanya Fishing Tour recommends autumn in its seasonal guide. Treat this as that operator's advice rather than a measured peak for every target.
Species calendar / pending
Its translated species table contains inconsistent fish names. We have not adopted that table or turned it into a precise monthly catch rating.

Before you chooseFor a particular fish, request a recent local report and the intended method. A family fishing excursion and a dedicated sportfishing trip need different checks.

Sources & scope

Online source statements checked 13 October 2026. Independently reviewed before release; not confirmation from your assigned captain.

Planning windows, not a catch forecast.

Month ranges describe the sources' advice or programme schedules. They do not guarantee a catch, a safe sea state, departure availability or permission to fish a specific area. We retain differences instead of inventing a universal peak chart.

Discuss your target and dates ↗

BEFORE THE FIRST CAST

A better-prepared day.

Choose the priorities for your group. Use the checklist to compare programmes and prepare an informed enquiry.

START WITH COMFORT AND INSTRUCTION

Your first trip should make sense.

Ask who will teach you, what is supplied and how much travel time is involved. Tell us about seasickness concerns, your group and what would make the day enjoyable.

  • Instruction and suitable tackle
  • Shade, seating and boarding
  • A realistic duration and weather alternative

TIMING IS LOCAL

Choose a month.
Ask the right questions.

There is no single worldwide fishing season. Weather, species and operating conditions need a local check.

Your planning checklist

Select your destination and month to build a tailored set of questions. This is a planning tool, not a seasonal forecast or availability check.

    Open destination enquiry ↗
Use the saved notes for your month and questions. The enquiry link opens your selected destination; no booking is created.

    LOOK BEYOND THE LISTING

    The water. The boat.
    The people behind the day.

A programme, a vessel and an operator tell different parts of the story. The existing KVS test programme below links its own fictional boat and operator.

    CLEAR ANSWERS BEFORE YOU COMMIT

    Good questions
    make better trips.

Ask about your fishing day ↗

    Choosing the programme

    Can beginners and children join?

Suitability depends on the actual boat, conditions, equipment and guidance. Share experience, ages and comfort needs before choosing.

Private boat or shared seat: what changes?

A private price usually applies to a boat or agreed group; a shared trip may charge for each seat. Check the price unit, maximum group and what is included before comparing.

Does a six-hour trip mean six hours of fishing?

Not necessarily. Travel, searching and stops may be included in the trip duration. Ask for the planned travel time and time on the fishing grounds.

What equipment and extras should I check?

Ask about method-specific rods and reels, lures or bait, fuel, drinking water, required licences, transfers and any additional charges. The sample cards do not establish inclusions.

    Can companions join without fishing?

Ask about the group limit, seating, shade, toilet and the route. Confirm whether companions count toward capacity and whether the format suits their interests.

    Confirmation & payment

Does choosing a date reserve a boat?

No. Send your preferred dates and group details. We discuss the programme and confirm with the captain before requesting a deposit.

    How does payment work?

After the trip is confirmed, you pay the agreed deposit. The remaining balance is paid locally. Exact amounts and terms are agreed for your trip.

What happens if the weather changes?

Ask about the captain decision, alternatives, rescheduling and cancellation terms before paying the deposit. We do not show a universal weather guarantee.

    Fish, rules & preview

    Is a catch guaranteed?

No. A target species is a preference. Conditions and fishing opportunities vary, and a catch cannot be promised.

What about licences, rules and keeping fish?

These depend on the destination, species and trip. Confirm current requirements, protected areas, handling and retention rules with the captain before the trip.

Why are the prices labelled sample?

This is a visual preview. Programmes, prices and allocations are illustrative and not bookable offers. Real source-checked listings will replace them.
